â€‹The North Carolina Legislative Black Caucus is committed to empowering and supporting Black and minority legislators and leaders to collectively address the pressing issues affecting our communities. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, we strive to achieve equality, justice, and representation for all North Carolinians.

Since its founding in 1983, the North Carolina Legislative Black Caucus has served as a platform for Black and minority legislators to advocate for the interests and concerns of minority communities across our state. In the 2025-26 legislative session, the NCLBC boasts a record of 41 members, its largest membership yet.

The NCLBC focuses on the issues addressing our communities across the state, specifically regarding health, education, economics, and justice reform. By amplifying the voices and experiences of Black North Carolinians, the caucus works to shape policies that promote equality, combat systemic racism, and create a more just and inclusive state for all.
